Every winter, Francis Howell schools have snow days due to inclement weather, namely snow or ice.
“I like snow days,” Savannah Teuseher, an FHN sophomore, said. “It’s fun to miss school and go sleigh riding.”
Superintendent Dr. Renee Schuster is the one to decide whether or not the schools will close. This decision is based mainly on road conditions, and Schuster also takes into consideration if other superintendents in the area are closing their schools or not. This is a very important decision that Schuster is required to make, because it concerns the safety of every Francis Howell student.
“We need to get off school on snow days,” Teuseher said, “because if it snows a lot, it’s dangerous to drive on the roads, especially if it’s icy.”
If there is a snow day, students can find this out through several local T.V. and radio stations and the Francis Howell website.
