In a meeting scheduled for 2:10 in Sociology teacher Mark Olwig’s room, varsity soccer coach Vince Nowak stepped down from his position as head coach. According to Nowak, “it’s time.”
Nowak has been the only head coach for North since the school opened it’s doors in 1986. In that time, he has built what is now regarded by many as one of the most successful public soccer programs in the St. Louis area. In his career at North,
Nowak’s teams have averaged 17 wins a season, tallying 15 district championships and 11 conference championships. In his final season,Nowak earned his 400th career win, making him the seventh soccer coach in Missouri to have ever accomplished that feat.
