Contest Showcases Male Beauty

mr.fhncontest41510On April 16 in the auditorium, StuCo will host Mr. FHN from 6-8p.m.

“The guys have meetings to attend to be able to participate, and they all have to represent something like a club or group. They also have to learn a dance for opening,” Student Council leader Jani Wilkens said,” It’s kind of like a Mrs. America Pageant without the swimsuits.”

Any males that are freshmen through senior can be a part of Mr. FHN. This event is open to the public so anyone can come and watch.

“It’s highly entertaining for people who come and watch. Also, there is a money prize of $250, but it’s a lot of fun,” Wilkens said.

There is a casual wear, evening wear, and a swimwear segment of this event.

“I’m probably going to get my parents to rent me a tux,” Mr. Titan, Kendrick Gaussoin said.

Along with the money prize if you win, money will be donated to the charity of the contestants choice. The charity part happens to be new this year.

“I just thought it would be fun to enter, and it would be for a good cause,” Gaussoin said, “My charity is TrailNet which is a charity that helps keep trails clean and builds new ones.”

Girls can also be a part of this event. Female Judges will be needed and the boys will also have a lady escort them down the runway.

“Yes, my escort will more than likely be my lovely, fabulous, gorgeous girlfriend Ashley Trautman,” Mr. Big Booty, Austin Haywood said.

Unlike Gaussoin and Haywood, other contestants are still trying to find an escort.

“I don’t know who my escort is yet. I think I’m going to hold auditions,” Mr. Irresistible, JT Thomas said.

All the contestants had a reason for entering Mr. FHN. Whether it was for publicity or for laughs, Thomas had an inspiration.

“Eric Peters inspired me because he is a two time winner. Basically legendary,” Thomas said.

Most all the guys seem pretty confident that they’re going to win. They’re all pumped and ready to go.

“Lookout, I’m super cereal about winning the crap out of this competition,” Mr. Bo Jangles, Zack DeSalme said.

While DeSalme shows his seriousness in the competition, Thomas is pretty straight forward.

“Get out of the way because the real Mr. FHN is coming through. JT Thomas IS Mr. FHN. BOOM,” Thomas said.
