Here at FHN many students are getting in the spirit for Prom by dressing up on the spirit days that have been planned. Today the spirit day was Group or Dynamic Duo Day. The groups varied, some dressed as the Powerpuff Girls, Batman and Robin, and some dressed as representatives of states for the Miss America Pageant.

Some students who dressed up decided the night before and others planned it out a week ago. Students that dressed up for Miss America had a facebook page going to pick which state they wanted to represent. Others decided they wanted to dress up together while sitting in class.

Junior Jennifer Meyers and two of her friends decided they wanted to be the Powerpuff Girls during government class. The three friends used to watch Powerpuff Girls as kids and one day they started talking about it and decided to be it for group day.

Meyers feels that people should get more involved in spirit week.

“Everyone is more enthusiastic,” Meyers said. “And it’s more fun to go to school, but I think since this is the first Prom spirit week we had, I think a lot of people are confused and don’t want to dress up.”

With only one day till Prom, some students are getting excited and looking forward to Prom on Saturday and the annual Pre-Prom Assembly tomorrow.

“I am excited for the Pre-Prom Assembly because I like assemblies and I don’t really know what’s coming for this one,” senior Melissa Alexander said.
