Students to UMSL for Immersion

On Monday April 19, Spanish teacher Brian Santos will be taking most of his Spanish 3 and Spanish 4 students to the University of Missouri St. Louis. Here, the students will be participating in the Spanish Immersion Day.

“I’m looking forward to the campus tour in spanish most,” junior Cat Pherigo said. “Basically so I can see if I actually understand [the Spanish language].”

The Spanish Immersion Day will consist of FHN students conversing and interacting in Spanish with other high school students, a campus tour, bingo, and a session of Caribbean/Spanish dancing.

This is the first year for Santos to be taking any students on the field trip.

“The students having the opportunity to improve their Spanish skills and converse [is the most important part to me],” Santos said.
