Supercross

On April 17 at 7 p.m., The Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, MO is hosting Monster Energy AMA Supercross. Racers will be coming out from all over; they have been racing all season to get extra points that will help them get to the championship in Las Vegas, Nevada this May. Supercross is a day full of fun and excitement for all those who attend.

“I like to watch the pros race,” sophomore Luke Oliver said.

For most people that go to supercross, the day is made up of a number of events. Some include the pit, going out to eat, and then coming back for the qualifiers, half time, and the main event.

“I get up, get ready, meet up with people, and chill in the pits.” Sophomore Sarah Bruce said.

The pit is full of chaos and racers. People gather to hopefully get a signature from their favorite rider and to see the place where the racers get ready and relax.

“There’s big trucks with trailers, there’s good looking girls, and the dirt bike riders.” Oliver said.

Supercross isn’t a stress free day for everyone participating. The riders have to go out there and perform their best to get points to win.

“Racers get points for whatever place they come in throughout the season,” Brad Noble, a dirt bike rider for over 30 years, said.

Supercoss doesn’t just come together easily.

“Someone has to organize the places where the races are, the pit, the races, the merchandise, and so much more,” Hayden Warner, a B class racer, said.

Anyone can go to supercross, even if they don’t ride all the time.

“I ride the dirt bike that anyone can loan me,” Timberland sophomore Zach Lamping said.
