On April 22, Biology II science classes had a chance to go to the St. Louis Zoo on a field trip to observe animal behavior in their natural environment.
“The students were able to learn some interesting facts about animal behavior,” Biology teacher Joe Brocksmith said.
The students didn’t just go to the zoo to see animals, they also were there to take notes on their observations from an animal of their choosing. They would then organize their observations, and any other materials they gathered to be used later in an upcoming project.
“The students are going to take all of their information and put it into a research paper,” Brocksmith said.
The students were at the zoo from early in the morning until they arrived back at school later in the afternoon.
“I was glad that the students did what they were suppose to real well,” Brocksmith said.
