What is arguably one of the most monumental days in any person’s life is their senior graduation, an event rapidly approaching for FHN’s class of 2010.

“I’m excited to graduate so I can move forward with my life,” senior Matt Mayerhoefer said.

The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 5 at the St. Charles Family Arena.

“It’s a celebration and culmination of 12 years of work,” Principal Darlene Jones said. “It’s a rite of passage for [the seniors] to be going out into the more adult world.”

Participating seniors are required to report to an assigned location approximately an hour before the ceremony begins and must follow a strict dress code. For girls, dresses are appropriate. A white blouse and dark skirt or dress pant combination is also acceptable.

For boys, attire must include dark dress slacks, a white shirt and tie. Should a student dress outside the allowed code, they will not be permitted to participate and will be sent home.

“My favorite part is the ceremony itself,” senior class sponsor Kim Rastberger said. “It’s great to see everybody all dressed up and excited for their futures.”

Graduation rehearsal will be held tomorrow during homeroom after the Senior Breakfast that will be held in the morning.
