For junior Andrew Richart, the fourth of July has always meant the same thing: the lake.
“I’ve basically been going there my entire life,” Andrew said. “Ever since I can remember we’ve been going there in the summer.”
It has become tradition for Andrew’s family to go to the Lake of the Ozarks for the summer holiday. Andrew’s aunt, “Aunt Dee,” has a house on the lake, where both families spend the day swimming, fishing and wave running. Last summer Andrew’s family brought junior Ben Hess on the trip.
“It was pretty awesome,” Hess said. “I had a lot of fun. It was wet, sunny, it was tight.”
Even though the family has gone every single year his entire life, Andrew says that he never gets sick of it.
“I like it because it’s so relaxing,” Andrew said. “You get to get away from the city and get to the waves. Nothing beats it.”
