Students travel for Cardinals

studentstravelforcardnials51810 Normally when traveling to another city for a vacation, people often visit tourist attractions and go on family vacations. They try to see as much as they can in the shortest period of time. Yet for a couple of students, a trip to Chicago isn’t an average family vacation.

Though Johnny McPeak, Chris Grither, and Sammie Mulherin will visit sights such as the navy pier and the local restaurants, traveling to Chicago means going to a Cardinals/Cubs game.

“It will be my first time that I will ever be at Wrigley Field,” McPeak said. “It will also be my first time going to an away game.”

McPeak, Grither, and Mulherin will all be traveling by car to Chicago to see the Cardinals play at Wrigley field May 28. Since Mulherin and McPeak won’t be attending the senior trip, this trip will help make up for it.

“I’m most excited about going on a trip with my best friends,” Mulherin said. “The game is just an added bonus.”

Going on a trip to Chicago when your a cardinals fan means you want to blend in to the crowd, but for the three friends, blending in is the last thing that will be on their mind. They plan on sporting Cardinals gear from head to toe, even painting their faces red.

“I have always wanted to go to a Cardinals/Cubs game,” McPeak said. “I cant wait to see the reaction of the Cubs faces when the Cardinals win.”
