For two weeks this summer, Megan Proebsting will be on a vacation with her family. They will be taking a road trip to one of the most historic and important cities in the United States. They are going to Washington, DC.

“This will be a nice family trip to a place we have never been before as a family,” mom, Debbie Proebsting said. “We get to learn some history and see some new things.”

The Proebsting family will be leaving for this trip on June 22. On the way to Washington, DC, they will be making a stop to visit relatives in Virginia. Megan and her family will arrive back home in St. Charles on July 6.

“The car ride [will not be fun],” Megan said. “Being with my sisters in the car can be kind of loud and annoying, and I get car sick.”

When they arrive in DC, the Proebstings will be staying at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. While staying their, Megan and her family plan on visiting several museums,  viewing the fireworks at the National Mall on the Fourth of July, and touring both the Pentagon and the White House.

“I have always wanted to go [to Washington, DC],” Debbie said. “We have never been before and it sounds interesting.”
