Senior Aramis Owens began her college search just like any other typical senior at FHN. She looked at location. She looked at school size. She looked at education value. But one thing is different with Owens. She went above and beyond, and she applied to Harvard University.
“I always pictured myself going somewhere well known,” Owens said. “I just never pictured it being Harvard.”
On her journey, Owens went through multiple applications, an interview process, and was mainly hoping that her ACT score, nearly a 30, would increase her chances of getting in. However, Harvard had other plans for Owens. In April, Owens was rejected from this well known school. However, Owens new renowned college is Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN. She will join senior Lauren Viehmann there.
“Aramis is one of the smartest people I know,” senior Brittany Velasco said.
Owens will study Entertainment Law at Vanderbilt, hoping to one day be a lawyer for those in the entertainment business. Throughout FHN’s class of 2010, Owens was the only one to apply to Harvard. She is now one of two from FHN to attend Vanderbilt.
