The curtains rise, lights come on, the audience falls silent, and the show begins. Freshman Rachel Kramer takes the stage once again for yet another brilliant performance.

“I really like the feeling of being on stage because I kind of feel like I have significance on stage,” Kramer said. “I especially like the end when you hear everyone clapping for you, you feel like all of your hard work has paid off and people actually like you.”

After first performing in a talent show by herself called “The Top Ten Reasons Why It’s Good to Have a Cast” where she won first place in fourth grade, Kramer has performed in about 12 plays. Not only did Kramer perform in elementary and middle school, but she also performed at church and in the fall and spring plays at North. Having participated in both plays this year Kramer has earned enough thespian points to be inducted to become a Thespian.

“She’s a good performer because she is hard on herself. She had a very well defined character this year,” drama teacher Jeff Tandler said. “She’s easy to work with and does what is asked of her and always tries to improve herself. She also has a very large stage presence.”
