As the first quarter of the school year comes to an end, I have decided to review 3 apps that help at school. Since I would venture to guess that many of you have tests sometime this week.
1. The Dictionary.com App. This app is very useful for looking up words. Surprising, I know. It also comes has a thesaurus built in too. The best part though is that it does not require the internet. Which is good if you have an iPod touch and only have wifi connection. The paid version has several other featuvres as well, including audio pronunciation for those occasions when you are sitting in English and a word like synecdoche comes up. Don’t want to pronounce that the way you think its pronounced.
2. The Graph It App. If you are in a math class, you will probably be doing some form of graphing at some point and this app does a great job as a graphing calculator for the most part. This way you won’t have to throw down +$100 on a calculator. It can serve as a regular calculator as well and it is much easier to use than the built in calculator on the iPhone and the iPod Touch. Its also free.
3. The SpanishDict App. This app is great for anyone in a Spanish class. It translates most words and can pronounce words if you are having trouble. It also comes with a word game to help improve your Spanish vocabulary. It is free as well, and does not require an internet connection to look up words.
