Lowery’s ideas on how to enjoy fall

After the stressful first quarter, students cannot wait for that 2:20 bell to finally ring and to be on their way to freedom for the all loved fall break. Every first full week of October students are given the week off to rejuvenate themselves and rest up for the anticipated second quarter. But a lot of students find themselves sitting at home bored most of the time during their breaks, especially during fall break. So we wanted to know, what are some interesting things you can do during your fall break?

Since it is in the month of October, everyone knows what that means. Halloween! What better way to get in the spirit than to do some festive things during your break. You could bake Halloween shaped cookies, put together a costume, “you can carve pumpkins and maybe even make a leaf pile,” suggests senior Isiah Glenn. There are many crafty things you can do to pass the time and make Halloween even more enjoyable. Some student’s may suggest some pretty far out things for you to do like, “go scuba diving!”, suggests senior Danielle Schinker.

Personally I like to break out the camera and find cool places to snap some photos at. The season is changing and the leafs are going about their normal changes in color. You’d be surprised how differently you can see the world through a camera lens. Plus the things and some of the different scenic places you can find to take pictures at can be quite captivating. You never know, you may be able to find beauty in what everyone else sees to be distressed and unusable.

Getting into the spirit, carving a pumpkin, catching some Z’s, or even scuba diving are just some of the many things you can do during your fall break. Being locked up in your house isn’t going to be entertaining, get out there and do something. And always say cheese and have a smile upon your face. You never know when a camera will be pointing your way. What will you do with your time FHN?
