On Sunday Oct. 17 FHN Deca attended the State Fall Leadership Conference. At this conference the members participated in voting for the state leadership team, along with mini competitions. Deca Members also took a short test and participated in role playing activities. This workshop was a chance for members to network with other students.
“It gave the new members an idea of how actual role play happens, and got some of the nerves out,” member Brittany Burke said.
The reason for attending this conference is to prepare for the real competition. Deca members will travel to Districts in February. Here FHN will compete against other local schools like Howell and Central, and if they win at Districts members will have the opportunity to go to State.
“They did a very good job,” sponsor Lori Lutz said. “They had a lot of fun and learned a lot to prepare for the real competition.”
