Scientists reverse aging in mice

According to a study that was recently published in the scientific journal, “Nature”, scientists saw a rejuvenation of worn out organs after reintroducing the enzyme, telomerase, into decrepit mice. The scientists that conducted the study believe that this might be one of the keys to an anti-aging therapy. They believe that this may be the key to curing degenerative diseases such as dementia and heart disease.

This is not to say, however, that the treatment may have adverse effects. It is, at the very least in my opinion, too early to proclaim that we have discovered the fountain of youth. We do not yet know all there is to know; on the other hand, this is yet another step forward in the realm of science.
