After making it through the District Level with Tom Ehlman, Craig Pruess, and Alyssa Roberson, Nicole Cuneo auditioned for Missouri All-State Choir and made it. Cuneo was the only one out of the four who moved on to the next level. Wednesday, Jan. 26 Cuneo left school around 1:30 p.m. for Tantarra Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks. Along with 197 students from Missouri, she stayed until Saturday evening.
“The kids that were selected were very talented and disciplined and I’m glad she got to work with all of them,” choir teacher Lorraine Smith said. “She had fun and that’s all I really care about.“
The students learned six songs in three days and performed at a concert Saturday morning. Some of the songs were: Stephen Foster’s “Hard Times,” Bob Chilcott’s “The Making of the Draum,” and Handel’s “Zadok the Priest.”
“Honestly it was one of the best experiences of my life,” Cuneo said. “The clinician Dr. Snow had a way of helping you understand the music and performing to your ability and I know I made a few life long friends.”
Cuneo plans attending Millikan University in Decatur, IL as Musical Theater BFA.
“I have a talent scholarship and I’m really excited to develop my ability even more, and I’m eager to begin the next phase of my life.”
