FHN Wrestling competes at State

Last night the State Wrestling tournament started. North had two players win and three players lose.

Freshman Brendan Hachtel wrestled Brock Wingbermuehle from Seckman High School in the 103 weight group for the first match. He was pinned down in one minute and eighteen seconds and lost the match. He moved to Wrestle Backs and was pinned down in one minute and fifty-three seconds by Mac Diaz Raymore from Peculiar High School. This ended his time at the State Wrestling Tournament.

Sophomore Tyler Smith wrestled Jimmy Carpenter from Park High South High School in the 119 weight group. Smith went five rounds and lost by decision. Smith then moved on to Wrestle Backs  and went seven rounds against Dan Wrocklage from Lafayette High School and lost by decision. This ended his time at the State Wrestling Tournament.

Senior Jason Shell wrestled Todd Magoon from Waynesville High School in the 130 weight group. Shell pinned Magoon down in two mintues and twenty seconds and Shell took a win. He will move on in the tournament.

Senior Harold Ritchie wrestled Arthur Meyer from William Chrisman High School in the 135 weight group.  Ritchie wrestled Meyer eight rounds and won by decision. He will move on in the tournament.

Senior Sam Stewart wrestled JDen Cox from Hickman High School in the 215 weight group. Stewart took a loss in the first round. Stewart went on the Wrestle Backs and was pinned by Tyler Casey from  Eureka High School in one minute and fifty-three seconds. This ended his time at the State Wrestling Tournament.

Ritchie and Shell will move on and compete Friday and Saturday.
