On Wednesday Nov. 28, Freshman, JV, and Varsity wrestling will all partake in the first meet of the season. The meet will be held at FHN at 6 p.m. Many of the wrestlers are eager to get the season started. The wrestlers have been preparing for months for this meet.

“I’ve been practicing and conditioning really hard, I also have focused on my countermoves,” Varsity wrestler Zak Davlin said

The team is hoping for an even better season than they had last year. The team had sent one wrestler to state, where he recieved sixth place and two other wrestlers qualified.

“I think this season will be a lot better, we have a lot more upperclassmen, I think the whole team will have a winning record,” JV wrestler Brent Dennigmann said

Other team members agree that the season will go better because of the advantage of having so many upperclassmen.

“We have a lot of seniors, so we should have an even better season,” Davlin said.

Members have high hopes for Wednesday’s meet, they are hoping that all their hard work will show in their performances.

“I hope to to come off the mat with a victory as well as the team winning the whole duel,” Dennigmann said.

No matter the outcome, members are proud of the work they have put in so far this season.

“I just wanna leave everything out there on the mat. Win or lose, I am happy,” Freshman wrestler Christopher Wood said.
