Sophomore presentation on class rings

class ringOn Jan. 30, sophomores went to a meeting hosted by Herff Jones about class ring orders during their English II class. Herff Jones is the company that make class rings for Francis Howell North.

“I’ve been super excited about getting a class ring,” Madison Kelly said. “I can’t wait to pick everything out for it and personalize it, and it’s going to be even more exciting when we actually get the ring.”

Herff Jones’ representative, Jeff Rodenburg, made the presentation to students on how to pick their class ring. Rodenburg will be back Feb. 5, 6, 7 and 8 during student lunches to take ring orders from sophomores.

“Theres so much to chose from,” Sidney Sheridan said. “It’s going to be pretty hard to pick from all the options they have.”

There will also be a parent information meeting on Feb. 6 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. and Feb. 9 from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the front school lobby.

“Class rings are really cool,” Allison Weyhrich said. “When I’m older I can look back and remember who I was in high school. It’s almost like your own personal yearbook that’s all about you.”

Students get to customize the entire ring, choosing from eleven different styles. Next, they pick from six different types of medals and add an engraving to the inside. Then they pick a stone, stone cut and stone background. They also get to pick any thing to put on the sides, like their name, sports they play, activities they’re in, and their graduating year.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun to pick out everything on my ring,” Evan Miller said. “It’ll be lots of fun to make a really awesome ring”
