Members of FHN’s Student Council took the Polar Bear Plunge on February 23. The event was held as a fundraiser for Missouri’s Special Olympics. Many teams dressed up, including FHN which dressed as minions from the movie “Despicable Me”. Teams that dress up have a chance of winning the “Golden Plunger” Award, with judging based on the costume and points awarded for how the teams enter the lake. FHN has taken home the award for the past two years. When describing how it felt going into the 20 degree water, senior Maddie Eifert said “When you first go in, you don’t really notice the cold. Then everyone tells you to go under, so you do, and then that’s when your body goes into shock from the cold”. Photos by Matt Krieg
