    Homecoming preview

Student Council plans to make a few changes to this year’s homecoming dance and can expect a couple different and unique things. One of the changes is that _MG_0872students will not be able to dance on the stage. There will also be a few additions as well, including a 3D backdrop in the gym.

“I hope the students aren’t reluctant to change and just have fun with the things we’re doing with the dance,” StuCo President Rowan Pugh said.

Student Council began planning homecoming and picking a theme last year. They also worked on planning over their summer retreat, but the specifics of the dance were not worked on until the school year started.

“I like [the theme], there’s a lot of potential for that,” StuCo Sponsor Shelly Parks said. “The kids are trying to do a classy version of [under the sea] and I think that’s cool.”

At the dance, StuCo plans to have many decorations to match the theme. Students can expect to see coral reefs, jellyfish, and ship decorations. Students can also expect to see many decorations hanging from the ceiling that StuCo has put up.

“We all thought it would be easy to come up with things to do for this theme and things to decorate with,” Pugh said.

According to Parks, ticket sales this year are doing well and this year’s dance is expected to have a high turnout. Many students attending are looking forward to attending and seeing how the event turns out.
