Students from all over Missouri gathered there today to network with students from other schools and learn what it takes to be future business leaders.

“I went to the fall leadership conference because it is a great way to network with new people and get my name out there,” senior Jimmy Higgins said. “Also there was unlimited pizza, who doesn’t like unlimited pizza?”

The day started out with three individual sessions with leaders from Lindenwood University, March of Dimes, and The Muscular Dystrophy Association. At the sessions, students learned about leadership roles in college and ways to help promote companies and FBLA. After the short sessions, students were given an unlimited game card to play any of the arcade games. They were also granted the opportunity to participate in laser tag, glow in the dark mini golf, go karts, mini bowling, and bumper cars.

“I learned a lot on the field trip, the March of Dimes speaker really stuck out to me and opened my eyes to the realization of premature babies and what we can do to help,” senior Madison Gillam said.

For FBLA sponsor Angie Winship the trip was a huge success for everyone who attended.

“My favorite part of the trip was getting to spend the day with people who all have the same passion for business and leadership,” Winship said. “It was amazing to see all of our members networking with students from other schools, I am more excited than ever to get started with competitions and hopefully go to nationals.”
