On Nov. 9, the Fifth-Annual All-Knighter Craft Fair was held at FHN. The event had approximately 135 vendors.
The event started at 9 am Saturday and ended that evening at 4.
“I feel like I have unique products,” Luv Knotz Owner Rachel Strutman said.
There were many vendors from knitting and crocheting, to jewelry and soaps. All varieties of shapes, smells, and colors.
“Oh yeah, there’s competition,” vendor Karen McKay said. “Today there was somewhat of competition, but that’s why I like to make stuff that no one else makes.”
Vendors from everywhere came to attend the craft fair. Most vendors have been coming for two to four years.
“It would be great for a freshman, sophomore or even junior parent to get a group together and take it over for next year’s All-Knighter.” Co-chair Dawn Lavezzi said.
This event is fundraising for the 2014 Senior All-Knighter graduation lock-in. The bake sale, vendors admissions, and some of the concessions go to the All-Knighter. The craft fair is one of the biggest fundraisers for the All-Knighter.
“It’s good, there’s a lot to do,” Lavezzi said.
They started planning in March. They had to organize the packets, obtain permits and get those to the vendors. They needed to contact the school to get tables and chairs, and needed to find volunteers for working throughout the day.
“If you’re looking to run a craft fair, just follow that binder. It has everything you need to know,” Lavezzi said.
Lavezzi and Co-Chair Carla Yungermann took up the job earlier this year. Not much was different from last year.
“Not everything went well, we had to satisfy vendors needs,” Yungermann said.”There was a big crowd and overall it was a happy atmosphere.”
The next fundraiser for the All-Knighter is at Denny’s on Nov. 13 from 4-10 p.m.
“I love how cordial and helpful people are at FHN. Other schools aren’t as good.” Serenity Soap Owner Judy Shrakes said. “I can honestly say this is the best, people are eager to help you and it’s just a great sale. This is number one.”
