On December 12, choir will be having their annual winter concert. The concert will take place at 7 p.m., inside the auditorium and tickets will be $3 per seat. Tickets have been on sale during lunches all week and will also be sold at the door.
“I’m a little bit nervous because I’m not sure how it will all turn out,” concert choir member Nanci Lopez said.
Choir will be singing traditional holiday music including “O Holy Night”, “Silent Night”, and “Jingle Bells”. They will also be singing some non-Christmas songs, including some Hanukkah songs. They will be singing about 30 songs throughout the night and have been practicing since after their last concert back in September.
“My favorite song to sing is “Jingle Bells” because we scat in the song, and it makes it sound really nice,” treble choir member Erica Sims said.
All of the choir classes will be participating, along with a few other groups of students. Solos will be performed by some of the students, including sophomore Marissa Meyers, and junior Beth Stonebarger.
“My favorite part of the whole production is in the first and last songs, all of the choirs get to sing together on stage,” choir director Lorraine Smith said. “Just to see everybody up there is pretty cool.”
