Basheir Langi (Senior)photo-(10)

Boys Tennis

Senior Basheir Langi is not worried about tennis tryouts this season because he says that there aren’t that many players returning from last year. The tennis team has 32 people trying out this year, but only 15 are players returning from last year, Langi being one of them. Langi did not play his freshman year, but he has played on JV the last two years. He has two goals for this season. He would like to make the Varsity team and he would like for the team to go undefeated. He says that he thinks with Kate Kleiber returning to be the coach will help them because she knows how a lot of them already play.

Mallory Schaffrin (Sophomore)

Girls Soccer

Sophomore Mallory Schaffrin is trying out for girls soccer this year for the first time. Last year, after tearing her ACL for the second time, she was unable to try out. She has been playing soccer since she was three years old, so when she couldn’t play her freshman year she was devistated. Her hopes for this year are to make the JV team. She is very nervous for try outs because the coaches have never seen her play, and there are a lot of good players trying out this year. She wants to help the girls soccer team pull out a lot of wins this season.

Dave Prost (Senior)

Boys Baseball

After being on Varsity for four years in a row now, senior Dave Prost doesn’t have a worry in the world when trying to make the boys baseball team. As a freshman, Prost was put on JV, but by the end of the season he was playing almost every game with Varsity. He was then put on Varsity the next two years and hopes to make the same team this year. He already feels like a leader of the team this season because the first day of tryouts he was leading strecthes and helping the  underclassmen get prepared to start throwing the ball. He wants the boys baseball team to make it to state this year.

Kristen Metts (Sophomore)

Girls Track

Sophomore Kristen Metts hopes to make a strong impact on the Varsity girls track team this year. She says she is not nervous for tryouts because she feels she has a good season last year, and is well prepared for this running season. Metts ran throughout middle school to get prepared for the high school track team and it paid off freshman year when she made Varsity. She hopes that this season she can help the team make it to state and she improves her own personal records.

Collin Toedtmann (Senior)

Boys Volleyball

When it comes to tryouts this year, senior Collin Toedtmann is a little nervous only because there are a lot of good players this season and tough competition for the boys volleyball team. Freshamn year, Toedtmann made freshman, but after that year he was placed on Varsity. He hopes that he makes starting hitter on the Varsity squad. He would also like to see the team go to state this season.

Tanner Davis (Senior)

Boys Golf

Senior Tanner Davis has been playing on the Varsity boys golf team for four years now, so he isn’t the least bit concerned with tryouts. He said that there are not many reutrning players, but there are eight new freshman trying out. He is very confident he will make Varsity again this season. He says that he hopes to make it at least to sectionals this year, and possibly even state.
