level. Justin ran cross country in the fall and is ready to fight for the track team this spring.

“It makes me feel really good and confident,” Justin said.

Levins is currently the top runner in the 800 meter at FHN. He plans on staying on top by showing up to practice and working really hard during workouts.

“I think he’s doing good,” Freshman Bryan Chac said. “We haven’t had an official meet yet, but I think he and the rest of the team are ready.”

Justin also runs the 4×8 meter relay with senior Brandon Rosner, and junior Mike Butterfield. The last teammate in the relay is yet to be determined.

“I like to run the 4×8 because it is a test of both power and endurance, and because it is a team effort,” Justin said.

Because a relay is a team event it is important to get your timing down.  It can mean the difference between winning and losing. It is hard to recover from a bad exchange especially if the baton is dropped.

“Practice usually involves either a distance run or a workout consisting of sprints or repeats,” Justin said.

Justin’s favorite part of track is the workouts because it makes him and his team faster. According to Justin the team needs to work on their consistency, in-team competitiveness, and how to improve their race times.
