Dave Prost Heads Into Senior Year of Baseball

Dave+Prost+Heads+Into+Senior+Year+of+Baseball

Senior Dave Prost has been playing baseball since he could walk and has spent 3 out of 4 years of high schoolIMG_0402-XL on the Howell North Varsity Baseball team. Prost is the catcher for his team and likes it because he is always in play. He also played for other teams outside of his high school team. He played two years for the Prospects and one year for St. Louis Sting.

“I love how difficult baseball is,” Prost said. “It’s one of the hardest games to play.”

Prost looks forward to making a state run with his team this season and make his senior year the best season yet. In the off season, he focused on working out and fixing his stoke. Other than catching, hitting is what Prost likes to focus on the most. Prost is also very confident in himself and his team to go all the way.

“I’m a very confident hitter and that is the key to hitting,” Prost said.

On Feb 7, Prost signed with Meramec to play baseball in college. He is also a finalist for the Greater St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame award and the ceremony will be held later this April. At the ceremony, one person is picked to win the rising star award for 2013.

“I’m ready to move on, but I will mostly miss the guys I play with,” Prost said.

The first game for varsity baseball is away, against Fort Zumwalt South on Friday, March 21 and their first home game is against Timberland on Tuesday, April 15.
