Today and tomorrow are the annual boys tennis GACs which will be held at Timberland this year all day.
“I think we will do pretty well this year,” senior, Raymond Che, said. “We’re playing doubles first and all our doubles teams are seeded number one. Our singles I think we’ll be pretty good at.”
Last years GAC was a great game for the team. Coming in first place as a team has boosted the teams confidence this year. Also the conditioning has been a big focus for the team this year and has also advanced their confidence. The team have been practicing foot work, returning the ball, and serving.
“Based on last years performance, Coach Kate (Klieber) has improved conditioning and has forced it hard on us,” sophomore, Pratyush Sontha, said. “It’s tiring but helps us a lot.”
With all this confidence the team feels better prepared than ever. Most of the team is expecting a great performance by Matt Dunn. With his outstanding record of winning matches, the team has great faith in him. According to sophomore, Rajit Sikka, he believes that, along with Dunn, Che will also make a big impact on the tournaments.
“Matt is like a tennis god and he has never lost a GAC match in his life,” said Che.
