Knights holding on late in the fourth to pull out a win. With this win, the Knights improve to 4-6 on season and continue on the road to play an undefeated, 10-0, CBC Cadets team, who has just come off a 52-7 win vs De Smet. Boys and Girls Cross Country Advance to Sectionals For Second Straight Year

With the boys finishing fourth at districts and the girls finishing third, the cross country team finds themselves in the same position as last year, going into sectionals with a low ranking. Can the teams make it to state as a group or will they fall one place short from state like the boys did last year? With consistently solid running from junior Chase Powelson and sophomore Jake Oppenborn, the boys team is hoping to at the very least send two runners to state this year. On the girls side, senior Ariel Kirkpatrick, freshman Heidi Hauptman, and senior Brenda Alvarado are bring the team great success with their recent district performance and have a good shot at a trip to state. The teams have a strong sectionals to compete in with teams like Francis Howell, SLUH, and Webster Groves.

prelims finals Thursday. With a win in the finals, the boys could move on to the state meet Saturday. The diving part of the team will compete tomorrow at the Rec Plex. The diving team already has their top diver qualifying for State, sophomore Peter Lucido who qualified the first meet of the year. The swimming team also looks to send top swimmer, senior Sean Pirrone to state in the 100 meter fly. The GAC preliminary meet will be held tonight at 4:30 p.m. at the Rec Plex.

Varsity Soccer Faces Hazelwood Central in First Round of Districts

After a 1-0 win vs Timberland on senior night, the 10-12 Knights find themselves at home against a strong 9-8 Hazelwood Central team. The Hazelwood Central Hawks just came off a 8-0 blowout win on their own senior night against North Tech. The Knights will need to find a way to stop this powerful Hawks offense. The Knights will also need some rhythm on offense as well. With only 37 goals scored this season, the Knights need an offensive spark in any way possible to be able to keep up with the Hawks. The winner of Howell North – Hazelwood Central moves on the play the winner of Pattonville (4-17) – Hazelwood West (13-7) on Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. The Knights – Hawks game will be played tonight at 7 p.m. here at Howell North Stadium.
