Ted 2: Coming Soon

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. In summer of 2012, Seth Macfarlane released one of his first full feature films, sticking to the random, slapstick Ted2comedy he holds in his TV shows Family Guy and American Dad. His movie, much like his shows, appealed to a certain audience. The film follows the life of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) and his very much alive Teddy Bear named Ted (Seth Macfarlane) drinking, partying, and driving like any other human, they go through a comedy where John’s girlfriend wants more from their four year relationship and she thinks the smart mouthed teddy bear is holding him back. You either loved it or you hated it. Some saw it as unfunny, obnoxious, and a waste of money. While others found it as laugh out loud funny, it was see that cartoon, vulgar, edgy comedy in a live action film with the A-List stars in the flesh.

Some were fooled, some thought that seeing Seth come to the big screen he would have had more to offer than his immature TV show and he could do something different. But he didn’t and for a lot of people that was exactly what they wanted from him, to see that 30 min comedy put into an hour and 46 min story. Praised or not, the movie fell with a solid review on IMDB of 7.0 and a metascore of 62/100. With a gross business of $218,815,487, It did very well.

So… obviously like the rest of Hollywood 3 years later they spit out a sequel. This takes place after Ted’s Marriage and is now looking to become a father, but in order to qualify to be a parent, Ted will have to prove he’s a person in a court of law.

Sounds kind of dumb when you first hear it but when you see t in the trailer you are surprised to see how much potential the story has. It is unique, it looks hilarious and it’s bringing in cast members such as Morgan Freeman, and Liam Neeson. If they both agreed to be apart of this film it has to be worth the watch. The trailer offers a lot of funny jokes and we just hope those aren’t the only ones in the film.

Ted 2 hits theaters on June 26 2015  and is rated R. Do you plan to see it? Could the next chapter ruin the whole story? How much can they do with a talking teddy bear? Will you be fooled or will you love this little fool in his sequel?
