On Saturday June 6, the FHN class of 2015 gathered for the last time at the family arena. Graduation started at 7 p.m. with the senior class entering after the school board. The color guard was then presented by American Legion Post 312. The National Anthem and Alma Mater  were performed by the senior ensemble. The Graduation Marshal Address was read by Matthew Riffee. Principal Andrew Downs gave the welcome speech after the Graduation Marshal Address. Alexis Tainter gave the first student speech entitled ‘Moments’. Downs gave a commencement address before Jillian Strickland performed ‘Hall of Fame’ by The Script.
“I thought the speech went pretty well. I was nervous and terrified that I would mess up or stutter because I didn’t want the message I was trying to give get lost in that. I just wanted everyone to stop thinking about the future and to live in the moment  and embrace it. Everyone is always so caught up on getting ready for college that sometimes they forget to take in what’s happening then. I wanted them to reflect on their past four years if their lives and realize how every moment helped them grow up so they are ready for the future and know how to succeed. I was so lucky to be able to speak and represent the class that way,” senior class vice president Alexis Tainter said.

The presentation of the class and the presentation of the diplomas were presented by Downs and the Board of Education. After the diplomas were presented, the senior ensemble performed ‘100 years’. The senior class officers then presented the class banner with the class motto ‘This is not the end. This is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.’ Senior class president Alex Weinstock led the turning of the tassels. The graduates then lined up in a horseshoe and threw their caps.

“I thought the overall ceremony was amazing. The performances by the choir and Jillian were really good and tugged on the heart strings. It made for a great end to my senior year, and I loved spending the day with my class for one last time,” Tainter said.
