With the holiday right around the corner, it is a good idea to start working on that shopping list that is pilling up. Each year in the FHN gymnasium, venders from all around the city come together to showcase their crafts and make sales on their goods. From tie blankets to candles, there is a lot available at the event. The fair only lasts one weekend each year, and this year it will be held on Saturday November 7th and the doors open at 9 a.m.

“I like being in NHS because I get to volunteer for things like the craft fair,” said senior Kailyn Bowman, ”It’s a lot of fun and very rewarding to help out at the same time.”

The fair is held for one weekend each year in order to raise money for the All Knighter which is the after graduation party put on by parents at the school. In order to afford things for the event like gifts and entertainment, parents must work together to come up with ways to raise money. The craft fair is one of the big ways they can do that. They sell spots to people interested in showcasing their merchandise so that people can come by and see their work.

“The fair is a cool way to let people create thing they want or like and be able to sell it too,” said senior Kyle Springli.

Everyone and anyone is invited to attend the craft fair. There, you will find all sorts of items you wouldn’t normally see in stores like personalized wood carvings and homemade clothing like winter scarves and gloves. Some vendors even have Christmas or holiday themed items that they are selling while others are simply selling things they create for year round purposes.

“There is something for everyone really,” senior Megan Mitchell said. “They have such diverse stands, and it’s just a happy atmosphere, too.”
