Senior Emily Jensen has been cheering for six years. She was a cheerleader for FHN’s squad her freshman year but decided it wasn’t for her. Shortly after that, she decided to cheer competitively and joined her first gym, Cheer Legends. She currently cheers at Cheer St. Louis on their Glory team.

On Feb. 20, Jensen’s team scored a 95/100 and received a summit bid at the JAMFEST Nationals competition in Kansas City. Summit will be held in Orlando, FL in the first week of May. While in Orlando, her team will also be able to go to Disney World.

“I cried [about the summit bid],” Jensen said. “I have wanted to go to summit ever since I started cheering and the summit is like the top 10% of teams in the country so it feels like an honor to be invited to something so big.”
