For the upcoming play, “A Piece Of My Heart” it is a new and simplistic play compared to the ones that have ever been performed before. The Masque Players prepared for weeks to master this play for the first time. The play consists of three of platforms: a high, a middle and a low. With just a few days left, the drama club is finishing up and giving the final touches needed to make this one stand out.

“Since it consists of the three platforms, every detail counts,” sophomore Matthew Juhlin said. “And because of that the dynamics have to be well done, otherwise it won’t sound good.”

The new play is a very deep and profound piece and that the club admires and took it upon themselves to tell this story. A play that can definitely bring the story to life and make an impact to the people who go to see it. It’s also a much more imaginative show, where the actors on stage stay on there for the whole show which is a challenge for both cast and crew.

“This show is very minimal and includes a lot of precise detail,” junior David Hernandez said.

The show itself provides a perspective on the Vietnam War. With all the hard work and dedication they have put into with a more larger scale production, it should come out to be an excellent performance which will leave the audience to think about a lot.

“I really like the play and it’s much different from how it’s done before,” freshman Zoë Meier said. “ It has a much more deeper meaning. Honestly, I love it so much, just the message it sends is so touching.”

The play will take place on Oct. 5, 6 and 7 at 7 p.m, in the auditorium. Tickets will be sold for $8 at the door and $5 on the FHSD webstore.
