Animal Control Evacuates Ducks From Courtyard

On May 1, animal control had to come to Francis Howell North High school to release a mother duck and her ducklings from the front courtyard. “We would like to catch them,” said staff member Angela Lawson, “because then you can actually take them someplace else, someplace safe, so we escort them out [and] they’re on their own.” The mother duck was displeased with their abrupt removal, and flew off, resulting in the St. Peters animal control putting the ducklings back in the courtyard with their mother. Lawson says they will be back tomorrow, May 2, to try again.
