Get Involved

Throughout all of my schooling career I never truly got involved, I did however do things outside of school. I played sports, music, and plenty of other things to keep me busy. I didn’t get involved inside of school though, which I definitely regret. I kind of missed my opportunity to get involved in things like sports or stuco but the things I have gotten involved in i’m glad I did. I used to think participating in school activities was a “waste of time” and that there was really no point, but it’s way more fun than I thought.

Being involved in the publications program has allowed me to explore many different types of media and learn what I like to do inside media programs. I’ve also met a ton of new people that I likely wouldn’t have had the chance to get to know otherwise. Participating in Mr. FHN was one of the best activities i’ve ever had the opportunity to get involved in. The teamwork between the guys and the overall comradery was truly incredible, how everyone helped by donating to each others charity and worked extra with people struggling with their talents or the dance. The fact that it was for such a great cause just makes it that much better.

Overall, yes getting involved does take quite a large portion of time, but I wouldn’t rather spend my time doing anything else. I know i’m not the only one that feels that way either, so it’s definitely worth a shot. Plus if you end up not enjoying your time you can always back out.
