Kim Martin is the head coach for girls cross country. This is her fifth year being the head coach.

Q: What are your goals for the season as a team?

A: Our goal is to ultimately get as many people as we can to state.

Q: Are there any players to look out for?

A: We have a good mix of players this year. On the girls side, Mackenzie Pugh is one of our top girls. Theres also Claire Huss and Hannah Degraw both are both great runners as well.

Q: Are there any changes to the team?

A:  We lost some good seniors unfortunately, Heidi Hauptman was a huge loss on the girls side. But we did gain a lot of new freshman this year.

Q: Are there any key- match-ups ?

A:  The Forest Park tournament for sure. It will be a challenge because of the competitiveness and the amount of teams.

Q:How has the team been preparing?

A:  Running all the time after school and a lot of the students put in miles over the summer and that really helps.

Q: Are there any team traditions?

A: We don’t really have any traditions, but a few of the players try to get together for dinner as a team bonding to prepare for meets.

Q: Who will be your teams toughest opponent?

A: Cross Country isn’t like other sports. We don’t really have just one team that we call our toughest. The Forest Park tournament will probably be our toughest meet this season.
