Singing at Carnegie Hall in New York is the goal for FHN Knightsound. The travel cost is $2,000 out of pocket per person. Knightsound has been raising money to sing at Carnegie Hall since the beginning of June and they are really excited to go there as a choir.

“I can’t wait to go, it’s going to be amazing,” junior Riley Witherbee said. “I have always loved singing, you make a family with everyone and it gives me a competitive outlet. It’s perfect.”

One thing that Knightsound is hosting this year to raise money for this trip is Karaoke Knight. This thrilling event is going to be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Commons. The entrance fee is $5 and food and drinks are $1 each. All proceeds go toward the trip to sing at Carnegie Hall.

“It’s going to be a nice time to let loose and for everyone to be themselves,” freshman Kaitlyn Davis said.

Many acts will be performing such as the FHN choir, Knightsound and anyone else who would like to participate.

“I can’t wait to see everyone there,” Witherbee said. “Last year there was a low turnout, but I feel we are talking about it more this year and spreading the news.”

This is Knightsound’s second year hosting the event. However, they expect to earn a good amount of money Friday night. Witherbee recalls Knightsound selling tickets to Karaoke Knight during lunches. However this year they are selling tickets at the door and during lunches.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun, we are planning to see some new faces and show off new things we are working on,” Witherbee said. “I definitely recommend going.”
