For senior Zion Perry, movie production has become a big part of his life. It is a passion he has had since he was little. When Perry was nine he started watching some of Steven Spielberg’s movies, leading him to get involved in movie production.

“I love fiction, I grew up with fiction,” Perry said. “My older cousins got me into Harry Potter and video games, and I’ve always wanted to make my own stories.”

When Perry has free time it is still mostly focused on movie production and how he can get better. Making sure the audience is happy is one of the number one things that matters to Perry. Directing is also something that he has been doing, trying and excelling in.

“I like directing, because you have complete control over your product,” Perry said. “It will be seen by the audience and they are the most important, and it brings emotions out of them.”

Perry’s friend Noah Moore also said that Perry has been interested in movie production since he was a freshman.

“He talked about wanting to go into that kind of field,” Moore said. “And doing it for a career.”

Movie production has played a starring role in Perry’s life and as it seems, he plans on keeping it that way. Perry has plans to go to college and move forth in the movie business.

“I want to go to Columbia College in Chicago,” Perry said. “And I’m also looking at Florida State.”

There are certain classes that are good to take for going to school for movie production, directing and script writing. Which are all things that Perry is interested in. The classes Perry is taking at FHN also help him to move forward in his producing career.

“I am going to be taking multimedia 2 [and] speech,” Perry said. “Also, I will be taking actor’s studio and journalism 2.”
