The boys volleyball team took on the Fort Zumwalt South Bulldogs on April 18 in order to get out of their mid-season slump.

The boys had dropped three of their last four games to #2 Vianney, O’Fallon (Illinois) and Desmet. They are currently ranked #5 in the state and the boys were going to need to make a push if they wanted to make the final four.

It all started with this game. The boys came out soft, keeping it close with the Bulldogs, only up by two in the middle of the first set. But, they were able to pull away at the end of the set to take a 1-0 lead after taking the game 25-17. The same happened in the second set, with the boys winning the match after winning the second set 25-18, improving to a 13-5-3 record on the season.

This is just what the Knights needed in order to help get their season back on the right path. In their upcoming tournament at Lafayette, they will face off against a lot of tough teams, including #1 SLUH, #2 Vianney and #4 Lafayette. With this coming up they need to hone in on their conference match-ups coming up this week against Fort Zumwalt North and Francis Howell.
