Playing a college sport has been senior Cate Hahn’s dream ever since she was a little kid, but it became a reality when she started receiving offers in the summer going into senior year of high school.

“I received offers from three other schools, but I chose William Penn because of the overall atmosphere,” Hahn said. “When I was talking to the coach about how she ran her team I really liked our conversation and it was something I knew immediately I wanted to be a part of.”

Along with her family, many other people have been there to support Hahn along this journey, like close friend and longtime teammate senior Brandi Stover. The two have been playing volleyball together since 4th grade. Stover was one of the first people she told about the offers and her overall decision.

“When I found out that Cate was going to play at William Penn I was so incredibly proud,” Stover said. “She has worked hard and dedicated so much time into the sport which made her deserve all of the offers she received and even though I am going to miss her so much I know she will do amazing.”

In college Hahn plans on studying Sports Medicine in hopes of becoming an athletic trainer and has many hopes for her future college seasons, one of them being the increase of difficulty of game play.

“There are many things I am looking forward to, one of them being an increase in speed of the game,” Hahn said. “There is definitely a different level of difficulty then in high school volleyball. I am also looking forward to getting to play with people who all love playing as much as I do.”
