For many years, seniors have been able to attend the All-Knighter. Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there will be some changes this year, resulting in a new event, dubbed “Project Graduation.” The All-Knighter is usually held in the FHN gym and involves the seniors staying in the gym all night with games and food, but this year will be different.

Project Graduation will take place at Six Flags STL. Seniors will have access to food in rides, both in the main park and the water park.

“This is one last ‘hoorah’ for the seniors before they all head their separate ways. It’s a time to make some great memories,” event planner Cynthia Brewer said.

COVID-19 has brought about many changes and the All-Knighter is one of them. A big change occurring will be the actual location of the event. FHN used to hold the senior celebration night, however for the first time, Six Flags STL will be hosting the event. Another huge change will be fund usage, as an estimated 10% of funds will be spent on safety protocol due to COVID-19.

“Unfortunately we will have to spend 10% of our funds on safety precautions and we are hoping for at least $75,000 as our budget this year,” Brewer said.

Usually Project Graduation is a callback to all of the seniors’ childhoods with activities like jungle gyms and bouncy pits. This year seniors are able to spend Project Graduation riding roller coasters and hanging out at Hurricane Harbor. For seniors wanting to participate, they can turn in $130 to the main office, or they can turn in a $130 check made out to the FHN All-Knighter.

“I’m looking forward to this event because it seems like a great opportunity to make one more memory with the people I’ve known for the past four years,” senior Sydney Giacomarra said.
