The Francis Howell North Knights JV Softball season has come to an excellent end as the team celebrates a well played 2021-2022 season.

“The season went great!” Sophomore Gia Grapenthin said. “ We all played really well and had lots of fun experiences.”

Unaffected by the construction, the JV girls took the diamond at FHN and played their hearts out these past three months. The team racked up 11 wins this season and only lost 8, walking away with a winning record is a great achievement that all the players and coaches are proud of.

“I’m happy how we all played, especially with a brand new group of girls that don’t have a lot of team chemistry,” Sophomore Melia Lanig said. “We all improved as the season went on and became really good teammates together.”

The season first started on Aug. 27 during a tournament, the girls lost two games to Howell and Fort Zumwalt West but then won against Howell Central. After a rocky start to the season the girls went on to win 9 out of there next 10 games with their highest win being against Fort Zumwalt East 20-6.

“We played against East and we were having a really good win streak going on so we felt really good about ourselves,” Freshman Nina Schindler said. “The game started and we just started hitting the ball like crazy and stealing the bases all the time. We had so much fun after the game and we were so happy to get the win.”
