On April 21, 2017 StuCo held their annual Mr. FHN in the auditorium. The contestants were Sean Rhomberg, Zac Cary, Kyle Rolfing, Chris St. Aubin, Michael Shine, Christian Witte, Ethan Samson, Bryce Perry, Anthony Kristensen, Trevor Bonert, Drew Lanig and Logan Mordvar. There were five portions of Mr. FHN. The first was announcing the Mr.’s, the second was pick up lines and causal wear, the third was talent, the fourth was formal wear and questions and the last portion of Mr. FHN was announcing who won the title of Mr. FHN. Bryce Perry as Mr. Steal Yo Gurl won the title as Mr. FHN, Zac Cary as Mr. Drama won Mr. Runner up, and Sean Rhomberg won Mr. Second Runner up. Rhomberg also won Mr. Congeniality chosen by the other Mr. contestants.

The UV lights starts to dry the nail polish. They use the UV lights to dry the gel nail polish because it helps the gel stay longer and become stronger. They dry each hand twice in one minute increments.

The nail artist starts to apply the polish on the nail. Usually when getting your nails done they will apply two or more coats of nail polish depending on how thin or thick the polish is.

Brown gets her nails buffed. The reasoning behind buffing nails is so it makes it easier to apply the nail polish.

The nail artist starts to sand down the acrylic. They have to sand the nails down to help shape them and also to make the nails thinner. If they dont sand them down the nails would be very thick and wouldnt look real.

The nail artists starts to apply the acrylic power to the plastic and the real nail. This is forms the rest of the nail. Other options like Gel Acrylic are available as well.

The nail salon worker puts the nails on Browns fingers. This is the very first step into getting fake nails. The salon worker starts to put the plastic tips on for the length of the nails.

Brown goes through the box of gel nail polishes. Gel is different from the regular polishes in many ways. The gel is supposed to last longer and be healthier for your nails.

The variety of colors sit on the shelf at Diva Nails. Every nail salon you walk into one of the first thing you will see is the huge selection of nail polishes.

Junior December Brown walks into Diva Nails on April 27. Diva Nails is a nail salon on Jungermann Road in St.Charles, Missouri. Diva Nails has an ad with our newspaper, North Star, for two dollars off if you show them your photo ID.
