Many students are feeling the pull of the increases on lunch prices.
On average, a student who buys their lunch spends around $12 a week. Sodexho, the company that supplies the school lunches, has increased their prices since the economy has gone up. These price increases have affected all normal meals and drinks, such as pizza and milk. Mona Fahle, cook and server, believes
the prices have been changed at random. Other employees also have taken notice to the students’ reactions.
“[The students] are surprised, but I tell them it was sent home in a letter and in other ways,” lunch checkout Linda Johnson said. “It’s not up to me.”
However, not only the students have been affected.
“These prices don’t affect me a bit,” student Cassie Roeslein said. “They affect my mom’s wallet.”
