Yet again, the Varsity volleyball team adds another name to the list of opponents they have defeated: Granite City. On April 1, the Knights traveled to Granite City and won their game, the first game with a score of 25-18, and the second with a score of 27-25.
Though the Knights won, they were not on top of their game.
“It was pretty bad,” senior Matt Melone said. “We weren’t passing very well, we were being lazy. It was sloppy.”
Granite City, Ill. is approximately an hour away. Melone feels as if it would be worthwhile to travel to Granite City if the team played a good game. Unfortunately, the team did not play their hardest.
More wins for the team provides them with more confidence. Though the team did not play up to the players’ expectations, they have a chance on April 2 to redeem themselves against DeSmet.
“I have no idea [what to expect] after last night’s game,” Melone said.
