With Football season at an end and Basketball season yet to begin, the Varsity Cheerleading squad, for the first time ever, is experiencing some mid-season down time. This break, caused by State competitions being moved back to July this year, is a welcome change.
“It’s nice because we get more time to relax and take a break, and we don’t have to stress out about the competition,” cheerleader Taylor Schumacher said.
However, the squad’s work is far from done. Practices will continue as they learn their routines for Basketball season and upcoming pep assemblies. The extra time gives opportunity to prepare and improve.
“This year is a lot better,” cheerleader Allie Medlin said. “We’ve squeezed in a lot more [during practices] and gotten a lot done.”
