The FHNtoday.com crew sat down with Varsity Shot Put and Discus thrower Sydney DuFrenne for a small Q&A about her track career.
FHNtoday.com: How long have you been doing shot put and discus?
Sydney DuFrenne: “I have been doing it since junior year.”
FHNtoday.com: How long have you been on FHN’s Varsity track team?
SD: “This is my second year.”
FHNtoday.com: What is your favorite thing about shot put and discus?
SD: “I would have to say my favorite thing about shot put and discus is being around people who like doing the same sport that I do and who have the same passion for it.”
FHNtoday.com: What is your favorite experience on the track team?
SD: “My favorite experience was being able to prove to others and to myself that I can be better than what people except me to be.”
FHNtoday.com: What is your biggest accomplishment in your track career?
SD: “My biggest accomplishment is proving to myself that I can be good at something again after tearing my ACL freshman year.”
FHNtoday.com: What do you do to ensure success?
SD: “I make sure I come to practice and work out as much as I can. Also to make sure I have a positive attitude everyday at practice.”
FHNtoday.com: What are you most looking forward to in the remainder of the season?
SD: “I am defiantly looking forward to beating my personal record that I set for myself last year.”
